Good Morning from Cape Newagen

View of the Week

Photographer Ryan Zipp woke up extra early to make his way down to Cape Newagen to capture the sunrise, and it did not disappoint.

“First Light Landing Reflections” Southport is a tiny island town with a population of just over 600 in Maine, located between Sheepscot Bay and Booth Bay. Cape Newagen, at the southern tip of Southport Island, was apparently visited very early by European fisherman. I arrived here at Cape Newagen before light at 4am and awaited the rising sun over my back left shoulder. The nearly full moon was still in the sky to the right of this tiny island and it was such a calm peaceful experience with no one else in sight. The low clouds caught some of the early morning glow and the red house lit up as the warm first light of the day reached the tiny island. Was grateful for the water to be calm enough to get these amazing reflections as well. • • • • • #newengland #maine #sunrise #earthescope #mynewengland #themainemag #landscapephotomag #newenglandphotography #gramslayers #yourshotphotographer #visitmaine #discoverearth #VisualAmbassadors #nakedplanet #benro #timelessuniverse #amazing_fs #mainething #mainetheway #maineisgorgeous #mainelife #downeastmagazine #moodygrams #igersmaine #ig_color #timeouthomes #reflectiongram #splendid_reflections #yankeemagazine
