Portland’s Fiore Home, owned by interior designer Vanessa Helmick, showcases furniture, wallpaper, décor, and Maine art, as well as custom window coverings and upholstery, in the designer’s signature “organic modern” style. More than half of Helmick’s inventory comes from local, women-owned businesses like hers. The key ingredients? Clean lines, natural elements, and plenty of texture. Here are a few of our favorite finds.

Pillows printed with dreamy watercolor paintings bring art to an armchair or sofa; $60 each.

“Starlight” emanates from these iron plug-in pendants, ideal for bedroom corners; $130-$170 each.

“Texture softens the modern lines of this woven sofa, making it feel cozy and inviting,” says Helmick; $1599.

Arrange Maine-made rock candles with real stones for a beautiful, beachy centerpiece; $32 for 3.

An aged copper finish warms up this durable dining chair and provides a nice counterpoint to wood furnishings; $150.

Whimsical yet sophisticated, this wallpaper would get along swimmingly in a powder room or on an accent wall; price available upon request.

Vintage-inspired macramé plant hangers make charming little display cases for shells, seaglass, driftwood, and the like; $215 for 5.
